Australia · Employer-sponsored skilled work · Subclass 482
An employer-sponsored temporary skilled-work pathway. EYM maps the sponsor, nomination, SID stream, occupation, salary, experience and evidence before the case advances.
Skills in Demand is not a generic occupation-only pathway. Before the case progresses, EYM structures the employer relationship, nomination, applicable SID stream and applicant evidence.
The case must establish which SID stream applies. Occupation, salary, skills, experience, English and any concession settings require case-specific review.
The assessment identifies the nominated occupation, proposed salary, skills, experience and other requirements applicable to this stream.
The stream must be established before its specific settings are interpreted. EYM does not assume that a role or salary alone establishes the pathway.
Where a labour agreement applies, agreement-specific occupations, settings, concessions and requirements require specialist review.
The Skills in Demand visa is an employer-sponsored temporary work visa. The applicant is nominated for a skilled position and the applicable Core Skills, Specialist Skills or Labour Agreement stream must be established for the case.
A subclass 482 holder generally works only in the nominated occupation and for the sponsoring employer or an associated entity unless an exemption applies. Occupation, salary, skills, experience, English and labour-agreement settings can vary by stream and require case-specific review.
Eligible family members may be included in a subclass 482 application or may apply separately as subsequent entrants, subject to the applicable requirements for each applicant.
These are the six currently verified regulatory evidence groups for this pathway.
Only the verified government charge is shown here. EYM professional pricing and third-party costs are not displayed on this page.
The standard base main-applicant charge shown above is not universal. From 1 July 2026, a lower visa cost may apply to eligible Pacific Island and Timor-Leste applicants. Additional applicant charges, concessions, second instalments, sponsorship, nomination and other costs may also apply. Exact government cost requires case-specific review.
The regulatory foundation remains linked to official Department of Home Affairs sources.
Start the employer-sponsored assessment. EYM will use the case facts to establish what must be reviewed before the pathway progresses.
